About Thrive Outside
Thrive Outside offers an alternative learning provision for children and young adults whose experience of school has been challenging or for children whose own past experiences has prevented them from being able to function in a conventional classroom environment.
The provision has been developed by a team of professionals with a wealth of experience of working with children that have had numerous school placement breakdowns. They have cared for, and educated children with a variety of needs, such as ADHD, Autism and complex behavioural needs. The team is experienced in working with looked after children and young people that have not been able to sustain school placements. The Thrive Outside Team have recognised the need for a different kind of service that can form a foundation for the child’s valuable learning journey.

Based in the Bedfordshire Countryside, in the small village of Maulden, our private woodland provides a calm and therapeutic setting in which children can build relationships, recognise their own value and build skills for independence. Our ethos is that every child should be given the opportunity to reach their potential and thrive.

Keeping the child at the centre and being lead by the needs of the individual makes Thrive Outside unique. Our flexible, open minded and attuned approach to each child means that we can respond to what matters. Thrive Outside will meet the young person in their own environment, understand the origins of the referral to us and understand what changes are meaningful to them.
The team will guide and support them through their journey at Thrive Outside, using nature, sustainability, growth, seasonality and connection as a foundation for positive change.
